ATTB

ATTB is an arconym for A Time To Build, the capital campaign and construction project at Camp that is developing Promise Woods Cabins and the Promise Center. The main goal of the project is to create a Summer Camp Village of Cabins and a multi-use meeting space which would also serve as lodging and meeting space for year-round guest groups.

The project included two major Stewardship & Sustainability features:

  • Energy Sustainability: All structures were built to meet or exceed best practices in energy conservation, especially the cabins. On-demand Water Heaters were selected to save energy with largely week-end only usage. A 23 kW solar panel array was added to the roof of the Promise Center to offset most of the electric needs of all Promise Woods buildings.
  • Forestry Stewardship Program: Wood Products were selected that would use mature Northern White Pine, a species that follows human disturbance of the better suited and more diverse Oak-Heath Community Mixed Forest. By logging out pine for the project, areas of the forest could be managed in preference Oak-Heath.
