The Larkin LCA662AB Walk-in Cooler Unit froze over after the door to the walk-in was left open allowing warm moist air to enter and condense on the unit. According to Rick Weaver, the ice had reached and immobilized the fan. After thawing, the fan would turn slowly and the motor generated excess heat.

A new motor was purchase from Meier Supply (see equpiment page) and installed. This motor is an updated HeatCraft 25309501S model that replaces the original equipment. One note: the fan has a two-pin connector that plugs into a socket attached to the wall of the fan chamber. No need to remove side panels.

Conversation with the techs (Rick and Joey) from Blueline Mechanical indicated that the charge was low on the Walk-in Cooler system, possibly leading to icing and destroying the fan.
