The Swimming Pool ladder at the sliding board side of the deep end had a broken top step, The thread broke at each side, leaving plastic still attached to the ladder risers with stainless steel hardware.
A temporary step was made out of oak and attached with same hardware. Hardware shows some indication of blending or stress. Channel locks had to be used to carefully turn carriage bolts to thread through holes on ladder risers.
These replacement steps are wider. Installation required loosening the step below — we’ll see if this creates problems. Two steps are now in Maintenance Building storage.
While attempting installation, I attempted to remove the whole ladder for easier access, but it appears the ladder risers are concreted into place rather than being installed in a sleeve.
