When working on the concerns of an owning church, the OD proposed the following policy:
When two groups are booked at Camp, the larger group should get the choice of which facilities they prefer, even if they might choose the facilities that the other group had by last year’s precedence. This wold be in an effort to serve the greatest good to the greatest number of people.
Questions that must be asked to draft the full policy:
When would the size of the groups be counted for the policy? When they book again for next year? At the time of deposit? At some time point previous to the retreat? Numbers could change significantly. Also, a group might rather book a different weekend if they know they need a particular facility, but this would be hard to do in a short time-frame.
What would be done when actual group size varies considerably from the booked group size?
What would prevent “gaming” the system by reporting larger than practical numbers to get choice of facility?
