Smoke Detector Needs Mounting in Motel 8

There is a smoke detector on the dresser in Motel 8 and an old model mounted on the ceiling. We should remove the old equipment from the ceiling if it is obsolete and mount the new one. I don’t think it’s fire code to have one not mounted since the guest might move it to a non-functioning area like a dresser drawer, etc.
