Camp Deerpark Facilities

Camp Deerpark offers a variety of meeting, lodging, and recreational spaces. Our facilities are humble, comfortable, and capable of hosting multiple groups. We are excited about several pending improvements to Camp as part of our capital campaign, A Time to Build.

In the meantime, we do our best to accommodate your group’s specific needs and to make sure your stay is comfortable and marked with the hospitality guests have come to expect from our staff.

Spruce Lodge—In addition to sleeping accommodations for 38 persons, Camp’s main building houses the administrative offices, kitchen/dining hall, and the hallmark living room and front porch where many campers and guests gather informally throughout the year.

The large farmhouse-style lodge is the heart and soul of Camp Deerpark. From the time you arrive at camp and smell the freshly brewed coffee until you wave goodbye, Spruce Lodge will be your home in the country.  For generations children, youth, and families have been sitting in the living room or on the front porch singing, sharing a story, or just enjoying the tranquility of the open fields. Spruce Lodge houses twelve rooms with a total of 38 beds, the living room lounge, the dining room and kitchen, and the camp office.

You will feel completely at home in the country-style dining room in Spruce Lodge.  Fresh coffee, hot tea, and hot chocolate are available for you to enjoy all weekend long.  Don’t rush off, a retreat at Camp Deerpark is the perfect place to get a refill on your coffee and continue the dinner conversation. Youth and adults are often found between meals sitting around a table playing a game or just having a good conversation.

The living room in Spruce Lodge provides the perfect setting for sipping hot chocolate in the winter or watching the fall leaves through the picture window.  The living room is considered a public space, but may be used for break-out sessions or informal meetings.

Twelve rooms on the second floor of Spruce Lodge have a total of 38 beds.  Most rooms have their own sink and the bathrooms are shared.  Blankets and pillows are provided for all beds.  If your group requires separating men from women our weekend host will be happy to help you assign rooms.

The Faith Chapel houses two meeting rooms and a lounge and public restrooms.  Both meeting rooms have comfortably padded chairs and a screen for projection.

Chapel Main Room—seats 80.  When Camp Deerpark was purchased in 1969 this room was called the Casino complete with several arcade games and a bar in the corner.  For more than forty years it has been a place where God’s people come to worship, fellowship, and learn.  There is nothing sweeter on a spring evening than to hear the sounds of worship flowing out of the chapel and up to the throne of God.

Chapel Sunroom—seats 60.  Added to Faith Chapel in 2004 the Sunroom is true to its name with five large picture windows that look out over the open fields at camp.  The Sunroom is the perfect setting for seminars and worship services.

The Chapel Lounge is on the lower floor of Faith Chapel and provides a comfortable space to gather around a fire or engage in a friendly game of ping pong.  The Chapel Lounge may be reserved by a group for a specific activity, but is considered a public space for the weekend.

The Hemlock Pavilion seats 80 for meals and 100 for services and is equipped with a fireplace, electricity, and water.  The unique construction of the Hemlock Pavilion allows one to feel as though you are surrounded by the forest or on the edge of the meadow.

Dedicated to worship, fellowship, teaching, and faith-building, the Hemlock Pavilion is perfect for a family picnic, a summer afternoon teaching session, a late-night talent show, or a campfire worship time during inclement weather.

Over the fireplace you will find a passage taken from II Chronicles 7:1, “and the glory of the Lord filled the temple”.  It is the desire of the camp board and staff that you will experience the glory of the Lord in the Hemlock Pavilion.

this building will become the hub of the summer programs.  With Spruce Lodge in mind, this building will be constructed with a spacious front porch, open views of the rolling landscape in a centralized location between the children's camp cabins and the main camp area.

Inside, it will feature a stone fireplace for warm conversations and a place to worship on rainy days.  Promise Hall, a large room with a vaulted, lodge-style ceiling will be used for dining, activities, and meetings.  Adjacent to Promise Hall is the Wisdom meeting Room, which will serve as a staff lounge during the summer, and a conference room for 40 during retreats.  A catering kitchen will be used to serve meals that have been prepared in the main camp kitchen.  It will also be used as a snack shop, to prepare food-related program activities, and by retreat groups wishing to prepare their own meals.

A small program office will provide space for administrative activities.  Tucked in the corner of the building will be Loving Care, a small medical center for campers to receive care and lie down when they are not feeling well.   Facilities 18   Facilities 19Facilities 20Facilities 21

Swimming PoolA cool oasis of refreshment during the summer, the pool features a sliding board, diving board, and kiddy pool.

A cool oasis of refreshment, the pool provides up to 80 guests with an opportunity for refreshment and exercise on hot days.  The pool is open for retreat guests from 2-4 pm on Saturdays, though alternate hours can be arranged by contacting our camp office.

Camp Deerpark will provide lifeguards.  Chairs and a shade awning provide ample space for non-swimmers to hang out and still be part of the group's fun.

The main pool ranges in depth from three feet to nine feet with floating markers dividing the pool into three areas.  Slide into the water on the seven-foot sliding board or jump off the diving board and make a splash.  The shallow end is home to the basketball hoop, so you can play a game of three on three in the heat of the day.

A kiddie pool with a depth of 2 feet gives a quiet place for young ones to splash around while watchful adults sit and talk.
