The past several days have brought temperatures in the high sixties and low seventies and lower humidity. However, as Tropical Storm Debby came over, the temp climbed to the mid-80s with near 100% humidity. Due to the mass of the Promise Center / Promise Hall concrete floors being cool, a huge amount of condensation accumulated — essentially flooding the floor in Promise Hall.
I used the Nobles Speed Scrub floor scrubber in “vacuum only” mode to remove most of the water.
Condensation accumulation can be mitigated by closing the windows during huge swings in temperature and humidity, especially after days of concrete cooling. While this won’t totally stop condensation, it will allow the floors to “acclimate” more gradually, avoid the worst of the wetness.
