Equipment

Equipment refers to Camp Deerpark’s vehicles, machines, and tools. This includes cars, tractors, and heavy equipment, but also utility machines (furnaces, washing machines, etc) and working machines and tools (wood planers, nail guns, etc.). Equipment includes vehicles, machines, and tools used in work areas, guest areas, and residences. Although Equipment is present in most Buildings and may play an important roll in Buildings, we categorize it separately. For example, The Admin House is a building at Camp, but the Dishwasher in the Admin House is categorized as Equipment. Generally, any machine that is installed in a building and can be easily replaced is considered Equipment.

All Camp Equipment is the responsibility of the Facilities Department. The Facilities Department may elect to give responsibility to a Department or person for a piece of Equipment at the discretion of the Facilities Director. Permission should be sought from Facilities before using Equipment not previously authorized.

Camp requires all Equipment to be used in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with our Stewardship values — avoiding harm to people and animals and damage to the Equipment and other property.

How Do You Define Mission?

By Ben Cheek | October 1, 2024

Serving God, while the greatest of blessings, is no guarantee that everything will go well in life. Tragedy, difficulty, and suffering can find any of us at any moment, and when it does, the people of God are essential in helping us navigate the valleys of shadow with Jesus by our side. Ben Gosnell came…

You Can Always Come Home

By Ben Cheek | September 12, 2024

In the pursuit of mission, I’ve moved around a lot as an adult. To be perfectly honest, I haven’t found a place since Mom and Dad’s house that I felt was mine — a place I could call home. If you find yourself longing for home, you’re in some pretty good company. It says in…

Signs and The Summer Camp High

By Ben Cheek | August 20, 2024

Some people talk about “The Summer Camp High” as if it’s not real. I have to admit, I did too. It’s an easy target: people come back buzzing with energy and excitement and ready to be really spiritual and maybe even change the world. But by the time school starts again, where has all that…
